Already doing the work? Get the qualification.
Recognition of prior learning (RPL) turns your work experience into a full qualification. Apply free, and you get a fixed price before you pay anything.
How RPL works
You show evidence of what you already do. A qualified assessor checks it against the qualification.
Apply online
Pick your qualification and tell us about your work. About five minutes, and no payment.
We check you’re eligible
Within 2 business days we confirm the qualification, your price and the evidence you’ll need.
Pay and send evidence
Your invoice comes with the agreed price. Then you upload your evidence and talk your assessor through your work.
Get your qualification

Questions
Is an RPL qualification the same as one from a course?
Yes. It’s the same nationally recognised qualification. RPL is a different way of being assessed, based on what you can already do.
How long does RPL take?
It mostly depends on how quickly you can gather your evidence. Your assessor gives you a timeline at the start and keeps you up to date.
Do I need to come in?
Your assessor may ask to watch you work, in person or by video, and will talk with you about the jobs you’ve done. You don’t sit through the full course.
What if I don't have enough evidence?
Your assessor tells you which units are covered and which aren’t. You can do gap training for the units you’re missing, then finish the qualification.
Can my employer pay?
Yes. Many employers pay for RPL for experienced crews. Tell us when you apply and we invoice the company once you’re approved.
